Greg Schiano calls Isiah Pacheco the best practice player he’s coached, and compares his work ethic to that of three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Vincent Jackson, who Schiano coached in Tampa Bay for the NFL’s Buccaneers.

From NFL rookie to Super Bowl star in less than six months, Pacheco was recruited to Rutgers by Chris Ash — now defensive backs coach for the Las Vegas Raiders, who Pacheco will play twice each year — before pounding the rock for four years in Piscataway, and being picked by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Ex-Rutgers staffers Jafar Williams, now Temple’s wide receivers coach, and Lester Erb, who, per Wikipedia hasn’t coached since leaving Rutgers in 2019, recruited Pacheco primarily.
